Computing Facilities
The computers on the Main floor of the Library in Room 110, are primarily for the use of students using the library catalog, indexes, and databases. Library computers do not have Microsoft Office or any other software applications. They do have Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Adobe Acrobat software to read and open material associated with the Library databases and Internet resources. There are numerous datadrops throughout the building and wireless connectivity for student laptops with specially encrypted cards.
The microcomputers with Microsoft Office and other software, formerly situated in the library, are now located in the Media Center in the J.E. & L.E. Mabee Library basement. These computers are loaded with software to help staff and students complete assignments. The entrance to the Media Center is on the west side of the Library adjacent to the Wellness Center.
Computers in the Media Center are equipped with the following types of software:
- word processing
- spreadsheet
- layout & graphics
- math and statistical software
Scanners are provided along with laser and color printers in the Media Center.
